A short-lived perennial cool-season crop lasting 2-3 years with a deep taproot and growing 24 to 36 inches tall. It does well on low, poorly drained soil and tolerates more alkalinity than most other clovers. Alsike Clover is an extremely winter hardy perennial clover. A legume that is more adaptable to a variety of soil types and is extremely easy to grow in almost any condition. It is easy to establish where there is minimal soil preparation, but must be seeded shallowly.
