Introduced cool season grasses are plants that grow best in the spring and fall when soil and air tempratures are cooler.  They are generally dormant in mid-summer.  Cool season grasses in combination with a legume such as clovers, can be planted to reduce soil erosion and sedimentation, improve water quality, and provide wildlife habitat.
