4-6 ft tall native perennial bunch grass that spreads up to 36 inches across.  
Switchgrass provides excellent nesting areas as well as fall and winter cover for pheasants and quail.  It holds up well in heavy snow, and is also useful for escape and fawning shelter.  The seeds provide excellent food for pheasants, quail, turkeys, and doves.
